11:53 PM EDT, 07/12/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission launched a formal investigation into XXXLutz Group's proposed purchase of furniture retailer Porta. The bloc's executive body said July 10 that the probe will focus on potential gun-jumping in the implementation of the transaction. The commission clarified that the investigation is separate from the review of the potential impact on competition of the Austria-based furniture and home furnishings retailer XXXLutz Group's proposed acquisition.
