12:38 AM EDT, 07/13/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Corrects reference to company confirming the deal) Nippon Paint Holdings on Monday confirmed a 7.5 billion-euro offer for Akzo Nobel's (AKZA.AS) decorative paints business. The Japanese paint company noted in a release that no specific details regarding the potential acquisition have been agreed so far. Bloomberg News reported Sunday, citing people with knowledge of the matter, that the Dutch paint and coatings company received multiple offers from Nippon Paint in the past month. The latest offer with the 7.5 billion-euro valuation was made in the previous week. The sources said Akzo Nobel's management has not engaged with Nippon regarding the offer. Akzo Nobel and Nippon Paint did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
