ShaMaran Petroleum Reports Rise in Oil Production as Two Blocks in Iraq Restart Operations

12:16 AM EDT, 07/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- ShaMaran Petroleum (SNM.OL, SNM.ST) said Monday its production and pipeline exports increased gradually after operations restarted at the Atrush and Sarsang blocks in Iraq amid security concerns in the Middle East. The Iraq-focused oil and gas company expects production at both blocks to increase further in the coming weeks, with the Atrush block expected to soon hit 40,000 barrels of oil per day, compared with the current production rate of 37,000 bopd. The company said field damage assessment is ongoing on the Sarsang block, which is currently producing 7,000 bopd. It added that the operator is considering various solutions to achieve full capacity at the block, while monitoring continues on the security situation in the region.
