Intel recently released a space-grade system single chip codenamed Starfire. The chip is a space-grade derivative of the Panther Lake 4XE3 specification based on an 18A process. It is packaged in a multi-chip Foveros package and has the four major characteristics of low size, low weight, low power consumption, and advanced AI performance, and can withstand extreme temperatures of minus 55℃ to 125℃ and space radiation environments. The chip will be manufactured in the US and samples will be available in the third quarter of 2026. This is the first time Intel's 18A process has entered space applications.
