03:41 AM EDT, 07/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- SES (SESG.PA) is teaming up with the Dutch arm of French aerospace company Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) for the construction of a dedicated optical ground station linked to the Eagle-1 satellite. The space solutions company said Wednesday that Airbus Netherlands will build the station on a plot at the NL Space Campus in the Netherlands jointly leased from the Dutch municipality of Noordwijk. The station will feature a control room and a dome for a satellite-tracking telescope that will utilize laser technology to connect with Eagle-1. The station is being built on a plot next to the European Space Agency's ESTeC technical center. TNO is the prime contractor and will also oversee the technical implementation and advanced optics for the station.
