10:04 AM EDT, 07/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Financial Conduct Authority is reviewing Litani's offers to buy shares in Aviva (AV.L) from retail shareholders, Reuters reported Wedneseday, citing the regulator's chief executive, Nikhil Rathi. Rathi reportedly said the FCA will assess whether the US-based arbitrage firm is adhering to the law and if it is being fair and clear in its offers to the British insurance company's shareholders. Aviva has advised investors against Litani's "mini-tender" offers to buy shares at 17.5% below market value, warning that accepting the offer will significantly devalue their shares, as it allows the buyer to purchase the shares at a discount and then potentially resell them for profit.
