12:01 PM EDT, 07/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Union agreed to begin formal discussions for India to join the bloc's research and innovation funding program, Horizon Europe, as an associated country as part of efforts to bolster their ties. Both parties also decided to set up their first joint innovation hub on electric vehicle charging technologies and testing and launch a startup partnership centered on deep tech clean technologies, among others, according to a Wednesday release. The agreement was reached at the EU and India's third trade and technology council meeting held the same day in Brussels.
