12:14 AM EDT, 07/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BASF (BAS.F) subsidiary BASF Agricultural Solutions US is facing a lawsuit in the US over alleged infringement of patents covering the composition of Syngenta's Storen herbicide. In a complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Delaware and made public on Wednesday, Syngenta claimed that BASF Agricultural's newly launched Ridivex contains the active herbicidal component pyroxasulfone, which is also a covered crop safener in Storen. Syngenta filed the case days ahead of the expected registration of Ridivex with the US Environmental Protection Agency. The agricultural company is demanding a jury trial for the case. The German chemicals group BASF did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
