12:16 AM EDT, 07/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- S&P Global Ratings on Wednesday changed Commerzbank's (CBK.F) outlook to stable, while maintaining its long- and short-term issuer credit ratings at A/A-1. The outlook revision is based on the rating agency's expectations that the German lender will keep a solid credit standing amid its majority takeover by UniCredit (UCG.MI) over the next two years. S&P also expects Commerzbank to continue operating as a de facto separate point of entry in resolution for some time, supported by its "sizable" additional loss-absorbing capacity.
