Germany's Uniper Plans EUR5 Billion Investments in Reaffirmed Transformation Strategy

03:10 AM EDT, 07/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- German state-owned utility Uniper (UN0.F) on Friday unveiled plans to invest 5 billion euros through 2030 under its reaffirmed transformation strategy. Uniper said half of the planned investments will be for Germany, with a focus on flexible generation capacity, adding that the management intends to allocate significant resources to flexible power generation. The company is also looking to unlock a new revenue stream by inviting data center developments to its power plant sites. Uniper said it identified more than 10 sites with suitable infrastructure, with three projects already at advanced development stages.
