Seattle Chamber Music Society (SCMS) announced plans to build a new Center for Chamber Music in downtown Seattle—the city’s first permanent venue designed exclusively for chamber music performance, education, recording, and community engagement.

Located within the newly refreshed U.S. Bank Center building on 6th & Union at the heart of Seattle’s arts ecosystem, the new Center for Chamber Music will house a 271-seat concert hall as well as rehearsal space, a hospitality suite, and the SCMS offices. Construction is set to begin in the winter of 2026 with an opening date planned for early 2028. The contractor for the project is Sellen Construction.

The new Center for Chamber Music will become Seattle Chamber Music Society’s primary concert venue, offering greater flexibility for both festivals and year-round programming. SCMS will also continue to perform in other venues around Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region, including Benaroya Hall and Town Hall Seattle.
