01:37 AM EDT, 07/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BofA Global Research expects Bankinter (BKT.MC) to deliver "solid" second-quarter performance even with anticipated funding and deposit pressures. "Bankinter mixes some relative headwinds (funding mix, deposit cost, ALCO book) with areas of growth (insurance & payments). But we believe the market will gradually remove the residual valuation premium vs. retail banking peers. Deposit remuneration [remains] higher than peers, which with loan growth now, no longer unique to Bankinter, lowers the relative appeal. Also, deposit franchise is a key driver for banks to sustain profitable growth. We see premium vs. peers unjustified in this environment," according to a July 15 earnings preview note for Spanish banks. On the earnings side, the research firm revised its projections for the Spanish lender's stake in Línea Directa (LDA.MC) and the anticipated dividend payout. As such, analysts made "minor changes" to their net interest income estimate for full-year 2026 to 2028, and lifted their fee expectations by 2% and EPS forecasts by 1% over the same period. Accordingly, BofA's price objective was raised to 14.2 euros from 13.5 euros, with an underperform rating. Bankinter is scheduled to publish its second-quarter results on Thursday.
