06:27 AM EDT, 07/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission said Monday it sent its statement of objections to several construction chemicals companies and three trade associations in France, Germany, and Spain over allegations they breached European Union antitrust rules. The EU regulator's preliminary view is that the concerned companies, including Sika (SIKA.SW), Cemex, Mapei, Chryso, Master Builders Solutions and MC Bauchemie, colluded on future price hikes for chemical additives and admixtures between 2021 and 2022, following higher material costs driven by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The commission noted that the statement of objections does not prejudge the results of its investigation, and added that the companies have the option to respond to the issues raised.
