According to Zhitong Financial App, Intercontinental Shipping (02409) issued an announcement. On July 20, 2026 (after the Stock Exchange trading session), the buyer Seacon Shipping Pte. Ltd. (an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the company) entered into two shipbuilding contracts with the seller Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., according to which the seller agreed to build two ships for the buyer at a total cost of US$66 million.

Ship A, a bulk carrier with a total tonnage of about 26,700 tons to be built in 2028. Ship B, a bulk carrier with a total tonnage of about 26,700 tons to be built in 2030.

The acquisition of these vessels under the shipbuilding contract is in line with the Group's strategy of continuously optimizing its fleet and expanding the Group's control fleet by phasing out its old control vessels and replacing them with newer ones. The directors believe that since access to commercial opportunities depends on the availability of the Group's fleet, expanding the Group's control fleet will enhance the Group's ability to meet more customer requirements and enhance the competitiveness of its shipping solutions. This will also enable the Group to further attract potential business opportunities for larger market players, who usually evaluate (including) ship conditions and fleet size when selecting providers of shipping services and ship management services.
