Why Is TeraWulf Stock Surging Monday?

Listen to the news

TeraWulf Inc. (NASDAQ:WULF) stock is surging on Monday, driven by a sector-wide technical recovery and a massive peer-company contract that has reignited investor confidence in AI data center infrastructure.

The upward movement follows a downturn last week, after New York Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order launching a statewide moratorium on new hyperscale data centers.

The Nasdaq is up 0.70% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.12%, and Technology is leading with a 0.8% gain.

Bitcoin Stabilizes Above $65K

Broader cryptocurrency markets are providing a stable backdrop for the recovery. Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) is trading at $65,414.38 on Monday, according to CoinMarketCap, reflecting a 24-hour gain of 1.21% and a 7-day increase of 5.21%.

This stabilization follows mid-July market fluctuations where crypto-linked companies faced pressure from declining Bitcoin prices amid escalating U.S.-Iran tensions.

Peer Contract Validates Valuation

Investor sentiment is heavily influenced by Hut 8 Corp. (NASDAQ:HUT), which announced Monday it fully commercialized its 1-gigawatt Beacon Point campus via a second 352-megawatt IT lease.

The 15-year triple net lease is valued at $9.8 billion over its base term. “We took this greenfield site from first lease to full commercialization in just months,” stated Hut 8 CEO Asher Genoot, adding that the transaction validates the long-term orientation of their partnerships.

TeraWulf Technical Analysis

Despite the recent pullback, TeraWulf remains up about 279% over the past year. The stock trades roughly 9.5% above its 200-day simple moving average of $17.29, indicating the longer-term uptrend remains intact.

However, the shares remain under pressure in the short term. WULF trades about 17% below its 20-day moving average of $22.81 and 21.1% below its 50-day moving average of $24.01.

Momentum indicators also remain cautious. The moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator is below its signal line with a negative histogram, suggesting bullish momentum has weakened following the stock’s sharp rally earlier this year.

The 20-day moving average remains below the 50-day average, reflecting short-term weakness. However, the 50-day average continues to hold above the 200-day average, preserving the longer-term bullish trend established in August 2025.

Traders are watching resistance near $20.82, close to the 100-day moving average. Initial support sits around $17.29, which aligns with the 200-day moving average.
