In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng index recovered dropped 10.76 points, or 0.04%, to 25,132.29

In other markets;

In Shanghai, the CSI index recovered 140.91 points, or 3.1%, to 4,739.23.

In Singapore, the Straits Times 50 index regained 27.77 points, or 0.5%, to 5,526.72

In Korea, the Kospi index restocked 231.68, or 3.6%, to 6,747.85

In Taiwan, the Taiex index took flight 1,783.17 points, or 4.2%, to 44,232.87.

In New Zealand, the NZX 50 slumped 40 points, or 0.3%, to 13,656.03.

In Australia, the ASX surged 2.03 points to 8,793.30.
