On CNBC’s “Halftime Report Final Trades,” Stephen Weiss, managing partner of Short Hills Capital Partners, picked The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (NYSE:GS).

Goldman Sachs, on July 14, posted upbeat earnings for the second quarter. The firm reported earnings of $20.98 per share, well above the analyst consensus estimate of $14.40. Net revenue increased 39% year over year to $20.34 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $16.13 billion, driven by strength in its Global Banking & Markets business.

DCLA’s Sarat Sethi named Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) as his final trade.

Morgan Stanley, on July 15, reported upbeat earnings for the second quarter. The company posted quarterly earnings of $3.46 per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $2.91 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $21.348 billion which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $19.637 billion.

Shannon Saccocia, chief investment officer – Wealth for Neuberger, recommended iShares U.S. Energy ETF (NYSE:IYE).

Joseph M. Terranova, senior managing director for Virtus Investment Partners, named Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:VLO).

As per the recent news, Valero Energy, on July 16, declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $1.20 per share and authorized an additional $5 billion share repurchase program.
