08:22 AM EDT, 07/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission on Wednesday approved Asterion Industrial Partners' planned acquisition of a stake in UK-based Southern Water Services from Macquarie Group. The regulator concluded that the deal, which mainly covers the water and wastewater services in the UK, would not raise competition concerns due to the deal's limited impact on the European Economic Area. Following the deal's completion, Asterion and Macquarie will jointly control Southern Water Services.
