08:35 AM EDT, 07/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Labor groups prompted BP (BP.L) investors to pressure the oil and gas giant's board and executive leadership into taking action as the company continues to lock out 800 workers at its Whiting refinery in Indiana, US. The United Steelworkers, AFL-CIO, and IndustriALL Global Union said Thursday that the lockout, which has barred employees from reporting to work since March to pressure them into accepting concessions during labor talks, is creating governance, safety, and environmental risks. BP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
