02:50 AM EDT, 07/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Wise Group PLC (WISE.L) said Friday that the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency rejected its application for a national trust bank charter. The payments technology company noted that the regulatory decision will have no impact on its operations under existing money transmitter licenses covering 48 states and four US territories. Wise said it has strengthened its US compliance program since filing the application over a year ago, including improving investigations, reporting, and customer data collection. The company plans to submit a new charter application under a Genius Act framework.
