German Private Sector Recovers in July, Flash PMI Data Shows

03:42 AM EDT, 07/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's private sector returned to expansion territory in July thanks to a "marked upturn" in manufacturing output and more robust demand for goods and services. The S&P Global Flash Germany Composite PMI Output Index came in at 51.2, up from 49.5 in June and above the 50 no-change threshold, data from S&P Global showed Friday. The reading, which marks a four-month high, is above the consensus estimate of 49.8. For the manufacturing sector, the PMI was at a four-month high of 52.2, against the prior reading of 50.3 and the market forecast of 50.4. On the services side, the PMI hit a four-month high of 49.6, compared with the previous 48.6 and the consensus estimate of 49.
