Lundin Mining Expects to Restart Operations at Chilean Mine in Up to Three Weeks

02:33 AM EDT, 07/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Lundin Mining (LUMI.ST) said Monday it expects the restart of operations at its Caserones mine in Chile to take two to three weeks after the recent severe winter storm damaged two powerline towers servicing the site. The mining company said repairs are underway on the towers and full restoration is expected within the same time frame. The power outage at the mine started on July 18, and the company is using backup generators to maintain critical site infrastructure. Lundin said the storm also briefly affected operations at its Candelaria mine in Chile. The site has now been restored to full capacity.
