Sogefi (BIT:SGF) Stock Price Trails Margin Gains And Profit Recovery
Share
Listen to the news

Sogefi heads into the post earnings trade with a bruised share price and a stronger profit engine than the chart suggests. The stock closed at €1.79 on 28 July, with short term returns under pressure, yet the latest quarter delivered €249.3m of revenue and €7.2m of net income from ongoing operations. The real story sits in margins. Adjusted EBIT and EBITDA ratios improved in the first half while management lifted revenue guidance and expects full year EBIT roughly in line with 2025. The market is still trading the past. The P&L hints at a cleaner future.

Sogefi margins and cash trends support the bulls

The recent results give the bullish story around Sogefi some real backing. Revenue is roughly flat on a constant FX basis, yet contribution margin has moved to about 30.2% and adjusted EBIT margin to around 7.5% with adjusted EBITDA at 15.0%. Free cash flow improved to roughly €13m and net debt excluding IFRS 16 is near €8m, with the Precision Springs disposal expected to swing the group into net cash. For a cyclical auto supplier, that mix of firmer margins and a cleaner balance sheet leans in favour of the positive thesis.

Short term cost and cycle risks still argue for caution

The bear case around Sogefi is not disproved. Management still guides to a low single digit revenue decline for 2026 and expects full year EBIT only roughly in line with 2025 despite a stronger first half. Raw material and energy indices are rising while pricing to customers adjusts with a lag, which could compress H2 margins. China and South America are soft and Heavy Duty profitability remains below group average. The Douai plant closure and warranty related costs underline that execution and one off risks are still very much in play.

After plant closures, warranty issues and margin pressure, are these visible setbacks masking deeper structural weaknesses? Review our independent risk analysis for Sogefi which shows 2 important warning signs.
