12:27 AM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Knorr-Bremse (KBX.F) agreed to sell its Spain-headquartered Merak unit to OpenGate Capital, according to a Tuesday release. The sale of the global heating, ventilation and air conditioning, or HVAC, business unit is part of the Germany-listed braking systems company's increased focus on core technologies and profitable growth. The deal includes Merak's entire business operations and employees in Europe, North America, China and Australia. Completion is expected by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
