02:55 AM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Civil Aviation Authority said Wednesday it will allow London Heathrow Airport to recover up to 320 million pounds sterling in early expansion costs incurred during 2025 and 2026 through airport charges. The costs, which cover planning and design work for the expansion proposal, will be subject to independent scrutiny, reporting requirements, and an efficiency review. The regulator will also permit Heathrow West to recover 4.1 million pounds spent on its competing proposal through November 2025. The cost review is expected to increase the maximum airport charge per passenger by 0.15 pound in 2028 and an estimated 0.30 pound in subsequent years.
