03:35 AM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Fortum (FORTUM.HE) will close its Loviisa nuclear power plant in Finland on Aug. 2 for an annual maintenance program, according to a Wednesday release. The annual outage will run through Oct. 18, affecting permanent employees and 1,000 contract workers. The Nordic energy company also plans to execute several modernization projects during the outage to boost the plant's life.
