11:04 AM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Thousands of employees at Volkswagen's (VOW.F) Audi gathered for a protest in Germany on Wednesday, demanding clarity over the potential closure of a manufacturing site in Neckarsulm as part of the parent company's restructuring plans. Volkswagen has said the Neckarsulm site is among four manufacturing plants in the country that could be shuttered after 2030 unless an alternative solution is found, Reuters reported the same day. Audi's Neckarsulm site has around 15,000 employees. An estimated 6,000 workers were present at the protest, according to Audi's works council.
