On a per-share basis, the Livermore, California-based company said it had profit of $1.37.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.46 per share.

The business-to-business rental company posted revenue of $221.1 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $237.4 million.

McGrath expects full-year revenue in the range of $955 million to $985 million.
