04:28 AM EDT, 07/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The number of German businesses planning to raise their prices declined in July, though future price actions are expected to be "heavily influenced" by developments in the Middle East war, the ifo Institute said Thursday. Month over month, the ifo price expectations indicator decreased to 21.6 points from June's 26.1 points. By sector, price pressures eased in almost all sectors, including energy-intensive businesses and non-energy-intensive firms. However, ifo researcher Tiphaine Wibault noted that companies surveyed after July 10 reported higher price expectations than those who responded before the reignited conflict in the Gulf.
