Euro Area Economic Sentiment Up in July; Consumer Confidence Improves

05:14 AM EDT, 07/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Economic sentiment in the euro area improved in July, with the indicator rising to 96.9 points from the revised 95.4 points a month ago, according to European Commission data published Thursday. The latest reading is above the consensus estimate of 96 points. Meanwhile, the consumer confidence index was at -15.9 points, in line with the flash estimate and against the previous -17.6 points.
