01:45 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Mwb Research increased its price target and earnings projections for Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) following the publication of the European planemaker's second-quarter earnings. "Airbus delivered a strong Q2, with EBIT Adjusted 11% above consensus, although most of the beat came from Defense and Space rather than commercial aircraft. The commercial aircraft division nevertheless showed solid underlying momentum, with a 12.3% Q2 margin on sharply higher deliveries, while the weak H1 margin mainly reflects the Q1 trough. Guidance was unchanged, but the EUR 7.5bn earnings target looks comfortable, whereas cash flow remains more dependent on a heavily [year-end-weighted] conversion of inventory into deliveries. Demand is clearly not the issue, with a record backlog and strong [defense] orders, leaving supply chain execution as the key variable," according to a Thursday note. The company's revenue for the three months ended June 30 grew 28% year on year to 20.53 billion euros, while its adjusted EBIT came in at 2.43 billion euros, up 54% from the previous year's second quarter. "However, the structural long-term risk we flag every update is unchanged as [Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, or COMAC,] moves toward export capability. Nevertheless, until COMAC demonstrates delivery traction against the same supply chain constraints Airbus faces, we treat that as a next decade issue and stay at BUY. PT slightly increased to [EUR227 from EUR225] to reflect the higher EBIT," mwb wrote. The research firm also lifted its full-year 2026 EBIT and EPS assumptions by 2.2% and 2.3%, respectively.
