Nationwide: UK Annual House Prices Up 1.8% in July

02:09 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The annual growth rate of house prices in the UK slowed to 1.8% in July from 2.2% in the previous month, according to data from the Nationwide Building Society published Friday. The consensus estimate for the month was a 1.9% jump in housing prices. The average price of houses was 277,542 pounds sterling, up from 277,484 pounds a month ago. On a monthly basis, seasonally adjusted house prices were 0.1% higher, as expected, and against the zero growth earlier.
