Educational Publisher Pearson's H1 Attributable Profit Slips; Revenue Up

02:33 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Pearson (PSON.L) said Friday its attributable profit slipped in the first half and revenue increased year over year. Profit attributable to equity holders for the six months ended June 30 was 148 million pounds sterling, compared with 164 million pounds earlier. EPS moved to 0.238 pound from 0.245 pound. On the other hand, adjusted earnings increased to 178 million pounds from 162 million pounds, while adjusted EPS climbed to 0.286 pound from 0.242 pound. The educational publishing company's revenue was 1.78 billion pounds, compared with 1.72 billion pounds a year ago. Meanwhile, the board declared an interim dividend of 0.082 pound per share for the period, payable Sept. 14 to shareholders on record Aug. 14. It paid 0.078 pound per share in the year-ago period. Looking ahead, the group affirmed expectations for mid-single-digit growth in underlying revenue for full-year 2026. For the medium term, the company is targeting a compound annual growth rate in the mid-single-digit range for underlying revenue.
