German Unemployment Rate Rises to 6.4% in July

04:07 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 6.4% in July from 6.3% in June, according to government data published Friday. The reading exceeded the consensus forecast of 6.3% for the month. Meanwhile, the number of unemployed individuals in Germany rose by 6,000 in July, against the 1,000 decrease earlier and the expected jump of 5,000.
