HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) — HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) — Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners LP (BEP) on Friday reported a loss of $139 million in its second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of 37 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 35 cents per share.

The operator of hydroelectric and wind power generation facilities posted revenue of $1.71 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $1.02 billion, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.03 billion.

Brookfield Renewable shares have increased 21% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 21% in the last 12 months.
