The preliminary value of GDP for the first half of 2026 was MOP 209.89 billion, a year-on-year real increase of 3.7%, and the total economy recovered to 89.1% in the same period in 2019.

According to analysis of major components, overall service exports increased 7.2%, driven by a 9.0% year-on-year increase in inbound visitors in the first half of the year. In terms of domestic demand, private consumption expenditure increased by 2.8%, while government final consumption expenditure and total fixed capital formation decreased by 0.2% and 9.4%, respectively.

The preliminary value of GDP for the second quarter of 2026 was MOP 102.33 billion, a year-on-year real increase of 0.3%, and the total economy recovered to 87.9% in the same period in 2019.
