11:26 AM EDT, 07/31/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Union will begin implementing its Artificial Intelligence Act and the new transparency requirements of the said law on Aug. 2. Under the new transparency rules, certain AI systems are obliged to inform users when they are interacting with AI, the European Commission said in a Friday release. AI providers must also label deepfakes and add machine-readable marks to detect any content generated or altered using AI.
