01:36 AM EDT, 08/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sanofi (SAN.PA) said Tuesday the European Commission approved the extension of the indication for its invasive meningococcal disease vaccine MenQuadfi to include infants of at least six weeks. The vaccine was previously approved in the European Union for administration in individuals aged at least 12 months. The latest approval follows the positive opinion from the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use on June 25. The approved dosing regimen for infants aged at least six weeks includes two doses with an interval of at least two months plus one booster after the first year and at least two months from the last dose. For infants deemed high risk for the disease, the suggested schedule is three doses primary series at two, four and six months, followed by one booster dose from 12 months of age. The pharmaceutical company said the regulatory approval was based on the results of the MET58 pivotal clinical study for MenQuadfi.
