According to the Zhitong Finance App, Cathay Pacific (00293) announced its 2026 interim results. The group achieved revenue of HK$68.61 billion, up 25.3% year on year; profit attributable to Cathay Pacific Group shareholders was HK$6.243 billion, up 71% year on year; profit per share was 99.5 HK cents, and plans to pay a common share dividend of HK26 cents per share.

Cathay Pacific Group achieved strong financial performance in the first half of 2026. Our performance has benefited from the continued steady core demand of Cathay Pacific and Cathay Pacific Cargo, improved performance of Hong Kong Express, and better profit contributions from affiliated companies. Compared with the first half of 2025, the Group as a whole carried more passengers and cargo, and operated more flights.

Following a strong start to the first quarter, we faced even more serious challenges in the second quarter due to the situation in the Middle East and the resulting sharp rise in aviation fuel prices. As a result, our aviation fuel costs almost doubled from the first quarter to the second quarter. We have introduced measures to try to mitigate some of the increased costs, including adjustments to passenger and cargo fuel surcharges. Under these circumstances, we were able to achieve such results in the first half of the year, which fully reflects the business resilience we have established in recent years.
