Next plc Raises FY27 Guidance as Fiscal Q2 Sales Beat Target

02:30 AM EDT, 08/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- British retailer Next plc (NXT.L) increased its guidance for fiscal 2027 after an "over-performance" in its fiscal second quarter. Full price sales jumped 9.2% year over year in the 13 weeks ended Aug. 1, compared with the company's guidance of a 4% increase. The sales figure exceeded the forecast by 70 million pounds sterling, the company said Wednesday. For fiscal 2027, full price sales are now expected to grow 6.3% to reach 6 billion pounds, compared with the previous guidance of 5.9 billion pounds. Total group sales are projected to rise 6.6% to 7.5 billion pounds, compared with the earlier guidance of 7.3 billion pounds. Group profit before tax for the full fiscal year is expected to increase 6.3% to 1.24 billion pounds, compared with the earlier guidance of 1.22 billion pounds, and the post-tax EPS is projected to jump 9.2% to 8.129 pounds, up from the earlier guidance of 7.929 pounds. Next is scheduled to report its interim results on Sept. 17.
