On a per-share basis, the Los Angles, California-based company said it had profit of 35 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 37 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.

The specialty finance company posted revenue of $69.4 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $69.6 million.
