06:20 AM EDT, 08/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- A cargo aircraft from Deutsche Post (DHL.F), d/b/a DHL Group, crashed with an unidentified object mid-air after taking off from the Leipzig airport in Germany, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed source. The aircraft made an unscheduled landing at the country's Hanover airport after the accident, according to the report. The German police said late Tuesday that an unidentified flying object was seen near the Leipzig/Halle Airport, which caused the diversion of several aircraft. In a statement sent to MT Newswires, the German logistics group confirmed that an incident occurred overnight within the vicinity of the Leipzig/Halle Airport, without providing additional details. It also said the authorities are investigating the event.
