Listen to the news

Insiders who acquired CN¥99.4m worth of China NT Pharma Group Company Limited's (HKG:1011) stock at an average price of CN¥0.45 in the past 12 months may be dismayed by the recent 12% price decline. Insiders purchase with the hope of seeing their investments increase in value over time. However, due to recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth CN¥72.9m, which is not great.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At China NT Pharma Group

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when insider Hongli Chen bought HK$36m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.45 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than HK$0.33 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
