12:06 AM EDT, 08/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- SynAct Pharma (SYNACT.ST) said Wednesday that the US Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board supported its argument against an immediate-release tablet design for its lead drug candidate resomelagon. The clinical-stage biotechnology company said the board agreed on "obviousness" that an immediate-release solid oral dosage formulation is not routine for the drug due to some components' sensitivities to acidic conditions. The company is developing resomelagon as a rheumatoid arthritis medication and a host-directed therapy in viral infections. It said the decision is in line with its intellectual property strategy for the drug.
