Medicover to Sell Indian Hospital Business to KKR in EUR1.2 Billion Deal

01:31 AM EDT, 08/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Private equity giant KKR agreed to acquire Medicover Hospitals India from Medicover (MCOV-B.ST) and minority shareholders in a 1.2 billion-euro deal, according to a Thursday release. The Sweden-listed healthcare and diagnostic services company expects to receive cash proceeds of 740 million euros from the sale of its 66.1% stake in the Indian hospital business. Medicover plans to use the proceeds to boost strategy execution in Poland, Germany and Romania, and enhance its financial position and flexibility. Subject to regulatory clearances, the deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
