S&P: UK's Construction PMI Downturn Slows in July

04:47 AM EDT, 08/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Britain's construction sector remained in a downturn in July amid declines in residential and civil engineering activity levels, S&P Global said Thursday. The S&P Global UK Construction PMI came in at 44.7, higher than 38.4 in the prior month and the consensus estimate of 40. The latest reading marks the slowest pace of reduction in overall output levels since March but remains below the neutral 50 threshold.
