05:05 AM EDT, 08/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Galantas Gold (GAL.L) received approvals in Chile for the operational restart of its Andacollo Gold project in the Coquimbo region, according to a Thursday release. The approvals from Chile's National Geology and Mining Service are valid for four years from the start of mineral extraction, or until applicable remaining authorized tonnage or capacity is reached, whichever comes first. The decision applies to the project's previously authorized mine design, waste-disposal configuration, heap-leach facilities, operating parameters and safety conditions. The gold and copper company also plans to apply in advance for the extensions or modifications needed to continue operations beyond the currently authorized period, as well as for a phase 2 operational expansion that would raise capacity to 40,000 tonnes per day.
