05:07 AM EDT, 08/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Barclays expects RWE's (RWE.F) "favorable" $1.22 billion settlement agreement with the US Department of Interior concerning offshore wind leases to underpin the German energy company's medium-term EPS and support investor sentiment. "While a settlement was broadly anticipated following similar agreements by other major U.S. offshore wind players, we view the scale and structure of RWE's outcome as more [favorable] than expected. The agreement [crystallizes] value from assets with limited permitting visibility, removes a lingering source of uncertainty, and enables RWE to redeploy around US$1bn of capital into areas with stronger near- and medium-term earnings visibility," the research firm said Thursday. Analysts anticipate the market will also react favorably to RWE's expanded footprint in US liquefied natural gas and flexible power, as both sectors address increasing demand for "reliable power, energy security and dispatchable capacity." Barclays rates the stock at overweight, with a price target of 68 euros.
