Cloudflare stock jumped about 6% today, adding fresh fuel to a rally that has already been strong over the past quarter. The move comes after a quarter where revenue reached US$696.1m and non human and agent traffic crossed the halfway mark of total network activity, which matters for how investors think about the future of its platform.
The key point this time is straightforward. The market is paying a premium for Cloudflare’s push to own the infrastructure behind the emerging agent driven internet. The main question now is how that story develops over the next few years, rather than focusing only on this quarter.

The bullish story on Cloudflare is that it becomes core infrastructure for the agent driven internet and turns developer and agent traffic into durable, high margin platform revenue. Q2 offers concrete milestones toward that. Management says nonhuman and agent traffic is now more than half of total network activity, which lines up with the thesis that AI agents are moving from edge case to mainstream workload on the network.
On monetization, Workers and agent focused products are starting to show through. Revenue grew solidly while dollar based net retention reached 120%. Large customers above US$100,000 in annual recurring revenue climbed to 4,698 with strong quarterly additions. Remaining performance obligations of US$2.732b grew faster than revenue and are skewed toward near term delivery. This supports the idea that more workloads and longer contracts are landing on the platform rather than just driving free usage.

Q2 does not fully relax those worries. Gross margin sits at 73.1%, which is within management’s long term range but still below last year. Management now talks about margin “stability” rather than a clear path higher, which is not the milestone many skeptics wanted to see.
The other pressure point is execution. Cloudflare booked US$151m of restructuring and severance this quarter and lifted the full year restructuring estimate to as much as US$165m. That is a sizeable course correction only a few months after the workforce cuts tied to the AI pivot. Solid non GAAP operating income and free cash flow help, but the path to cleaner, self funding growth is not yet free of detours.
