The interim results for Buzzi S.p.A. (BIT:BZU) were released last week, making it a good time to revisit its performance. Buzzi reported in line with analyst predictions, delivering revenues of €2.2b and statutory earnings per share of €5.09, suggesting the business is executing well and in line with its plan. Earnings are an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance, look at what the analysts are forecasting for next year, and see if there's been a change in sentiment towards the company. With this in mind, we've gathered the latest statutory forecasts to see what the analysts are expecting for next year.
Following last week's earnings report, Buzzi's 14 analysts are forecasting 2026 revenues to be €4.60b, approximately in line with the last 12 months. Statutory earnings per share are expected to decrease 5.6% to €4.58 in the same period. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of €4.63b and earnings per share (EPS) of €4.70 in 2026. So it looks like there's been a small decline in overall sentiment after the recent results - there's been no major change to revenue estimates, but the analysts did make a minor downgrade to their earnings per share forecasts.

It might be a surprise to learn that the consensus price target was broadly unchanged at €51.48, with the analysts clearly implying that the forecast decline in earnings is not expected to have much of an impact on valuation. That's not the only conclusion we can draw from this data however, as some investors also like to consider the spread in estimates when evaluating analyst price targets. There are some variant perceptions on Buzzi, with the most bullish analyst valuing it at €56.00 and the most bearish at €45.00 per share. Even so, with a relatively close grouping of estimates, it looks like the analysts are quite confident in their valuations, suggesting Buzzi is an easy business to forecast or the the analysts are all using similar assumptions.
One way to get more context on these forecasts is to look at how they compare to both past performance, and how other companies in the same industry are performing. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that Buzzi's revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2026 expected to display 3.0% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 5.9% over the past five years. By way of comparison, the other companies in this industry with analyst coverage are forecast to grow their revenue at 5.0% per year. So it's pretty clear that, while revenue growth is expected to slow down, the wider industry is also expected to grow faster than Buzzi.
The most important thing to take away is that the analysts downgraded their earnings per share estimates, showing that there has been a clear decline in sentiment following these results. On the plus side, there were no major changes to revenue estimates; although forecasts imply they will perform worse than the wider industry. There was no real change to the consensus price target, suggesting that the intrinsic value of the business has not undergone any major changes with the latest estimates.
